Body Adapt is:
- For folks who are newer to movement exercise
- An opportunity to learn functional movement and the principles of healthful nutrition
- In a safe, fun and welcoming environment
- A 6-week program for all bodies
- Focused on foundational movement patterns to gain body control and core strength
- An opportunity to feel connected to your food in a mindful, shame-free way
We value ourselves as the most friendly gym in Minneapolis, and Body Adapt is no exception. All Body Adapt coaches have found joy in reclaiming their health through the principles you’ll be learning throughout our six weeks together. The Program includes three sessions per week. One day per week is nutrition class with Lucia Hawley, nutritional therapy practitioner. Twice per week you will work out with Coaches Jenn Schaal, Kaitlin Korbitz and Morgen Larsen. Program also includes an unlimited punch card for use at any mobility class at Solcana Wellness.

Morning session M/W/F at 6 am runs October 20th through December 1st
Evening session T/Th/Su at 6 pm runs October 22nd through December 5th (no class on Thanksgiving)

Jenn Schaal had always “worked out” – you know, the kind of work out where you find the treadmill at the back of the big box gym and walk/run for what feels like FOREVER maybe 1x every two weeks until you just… completely lose intereste and give up? Yeah, that kind, After being diagnosed in 2001 with Graves’ Disease that turned into hypothyroidism. After treatment, Jenn’s health and fitness levels consistently declines. In June 2014, when approached about joining Solcana, Jenn knew she was being presented with a life-changing experience. She accepted and chronicled her CrossFit experience in weekly blog posts – openly and honestly. In the two years she has been doing CrossFit, Jenn has thrived and flourished emotionally and physically and has made the transition from a sedentary lifestyle to a certified CrossFit L1 Trainer and amateur powerlifter competing in Minnesota. She finds joy in helping people of all fitness levels and body types realize their own internal strength and power through the supportive, welcoming, and safe community that Solcana CrossFit creates and encourages. Oh, and she’s a stand up comedian.
Kaitlin Korbitz is a USA Weightlifting Sports Performance Coach and a USA Powerlifting Club Coach. Kaitlin stumbled into weightlifting because they wanted to feel more at home in their body after years of neglect and self deprecation. Kaitlin came to a passion for fitness after owning the fact that their own body was strong and wanted to help build a pathway for others’ to come into their own strength, not just physically, but psychologically as well. Movement and exercise is often deemed as “torture”; punishment for wrongdoing. Kaitlin wants to change this mentality and instead see exercise as a chance to repair old wounds, feel strong, and be silly.
Morgen Larsen is a coach, masters weightlifter, and expert snacker. She loves elastic waistbands. Morgen started doing fitness as a way to reconnect with her body after feeling so disconnected from it for so long. Like many people, she didn’t believe for most of her life that there was a place for her in the universe of fitness, but she went out on a limb to try Crossfit back in 2011 and with a lot of loving guidance was able to finally begin living in her body, healing from a traumatic pregnancy and birth, and finding strength within herself. Morgen wants her athletes to understand that wherever they are right now is a great place to start from, that strength doesn’t always equal a six-pack, and that sometimes it takes the most strength to simply show up. Also, don’t look at the workout before you come to class.
Lucia Hawley is a nutritional therapy practitioner and runs her nutrition practice out of Solcana Wellness. Lucia came to study nutrition due to the need to support her own health after recognizing that the foods she loved didn’t always love her back. Lucia provides practical, easy to incorporate dietary education that debunks conventional nutrition myths and puts the power back into people’s hands so they can take charge of their own health. Lucia believes seeking health and wellness is all about finding deeper happiness and peace within ourselves–never about making foods “good” or “bad”, but instead learning how and why foods act in our bodies and why this matters.
